In the summer months, our guests are inspired by the sporting character that is inherent in our region. Hikes offer unforgettable impressions, which all too often culminate near the summits. In the shade of the rock formations, the crystal-clear waters of Lake Traunsee offer a wide range of water sports. If you would like to explore our recreational area in a hurry, we recommend taking a look at its extensive cycling and mountain bike trails. These will guide you through the green heart of the Salzkammergut.
During the cold season, our local mountain, the Feuerkogel, shows its best side: the beautiful high plateau is home to one of the most diverse skiing areas in Austria. Its extensive slopes welcome winter sports lovers of all ages and levels.

Familienbetrieb in fünfter Generation (20. Jahrhundert bis heute)
Seit mehreren Generationen befindet sich das Hotel Post im Besitz der Familie Leitner.
Seit 1934 befindet sich die Post in Ebensee im Familienbesitz. Damals ersteigerte Maria Gruber, die Ur-Ur-Großmutter des heutigen Besitzers, den „Gasthof zur Post“.
Ihre Tochter Maria Lange führte den Betrieb mit großem Engagement weiter, bevor dieser 1949 an die Enkeltochter Elfriede und ihren Mann Fritz Leitner überging.
1982 übernahmen Sohn Fritz und Gerda Leitner, die Eltern des heutigen Besitzers, die Verantwortung und prägten das Haus über Jahrzehnte mit viel Einsatz und Gastfreundschaft.
Seit 2013 führt Andreas Leitner gemeinsam mit seiner Frau Ivana das Hotel in fünfter Generation. Heute verbindet das Hotel Post Ebensee traditionellen Charme mit modernem Komfort und bietet Gästen aus aller Welt ein gemütliches Zuhause auf Zeit.
